Devotions 27-11-06

Job 28: 12,15,28
"But where can wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding? "Pure gold cannot be given in exchange for it, nor can silver be weighted as its price. "And to man He said, "Behold the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.' "

I just finished reading Daniel a few days ago and Daniel was a man of wisdom. It was true of him that he feared the Lord and he resisted the temptation to do evil. It is so easy to think that wisdom is being able to make a lot of money but verse 15 says that pure gold can not to be exchanged for wisdom and neither can silver. When I fear God and only Him then He can trust me with His wisdom. I also need to have a strong resolve to not do evil. This is accomplished only by a submissive spirit to God and His ways.

Lord, I am in awe of the simplicity of Your wisdom and yet realize the price of being totally submissive to Your will and none of mine. I know that is worth far more than anything I could possess yet it is fearful to be without any desire of my own but to serve You and honor You; that I would fear You above all things that exist.
